The fuel card issuance service will be done electronically by the end of Ordibehesht.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, Jalil Salari, Deputy Minister of Oil, announced the reduction of the time for issuing fuel cards to one week. According to him, the fuel card issuance service will be done electronically by the end of Ordibehesht; As a result, the time to deliver the fuel card to the applicant will be reduced from one month to one week.
According to Salari, in order to reduce the time of issuing fuel cards, it is necessary for Naji Research and Development Company to cooperate with the Ministry of Petroleum. In fact, the registration process of gasoline card should be changed electronically to reduce the time of issuing the card.
With the requirement to use a personal fuel card in 1402, many car owners faced problems. On the other hand, the method of issuing gasoline cards for zero-kilometer cars was also changed, and this problem added to the problems of car owners. Now, after buying a zero-kilometer car, the fuel card is no longer sent to the applicant’s door. After taking over the car, the car owner must go to +10 police offices and submit a request for a fuel card. The lengthy process of issuing gasoline cards for zero-kilometer cars or duplicate gasoline cards has caused many problems for car owners when refueling.
Reducing the time of issuing fuel card depending on the solution of security problems
After the implementation of the law requiring refueling with a personal card, the Petroleum Products Distribution Company also collected fuel cards from gas stations; Therefore, only one fuel card remained for each gas station. Many cars that did not have a personal fuel card had to wait to receive a fuel card.
After many protests regarding the long time of issuing gasoline cards, the electronic plan of issuing cards was put on the agenda. However, the said plan has not been implemented till now. According to the Deputy Minister of Oil, Naji Research and Development Company considers the reason for the delay in electronic issuance of fuel cards to be security issues caused by a cyber attack on the smart fuel system.
The fuel smart card system was hacked during 1402, during which the gas station stopped working for a while. However, Salari says that now the passive defense approval has been received in this regard. The infrastructures are also ready to implement the electronic plan for issuing gasoline cards. Ordibehesht 1403 will be the time when we will once again review the fulfillment of the words of the Deputy Minister of Oil regarding the electronicization of fuel card issuance.
