According to this regulation, the prescription and sale of drugs remains under the control of pharmacies, and only the transportation of drugs is done using internet platforms.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, today, after repeated delays, the regulation of drug distribution on internet platforms was finally announced, and the head of the Statistics and Information Technology Management Center of the Ministry of Health has promised that this plan will be implemented all over the country 6 months after the trial implementation.
“Seyyed Reza Mazhari” has emphasized: “prescription and sale of drugs is still under the control of the technical manager of the pharmacies, and only the transportation of drugs is done with the notification of this regulation using internet platforms.”
According to Mazhari, patients can get their medicine faster by choosing the nearest pharmacy to their residence using internet platforms.
This project was delayed for a long time due to the conflict between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Communications. Previously, “Amir Sayyah”, the head of the business environment improvement center of the Ministry of Economy, accused the Ministry of Health of a delay of one year and eight months in regulating the Internet distribution of medicine. On 20th of April, the 90th Parliament Commission required the Ministry of Health to issue this regulation by a week later, and finally, today, 9th of May, this regulation was issued.
