The 48th ICPC World Championships will be held in Kazakhstan this September. In this tournament, two teams from our country from Tehran and Sharif universities will be present.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, according to Tapsi’s public relations report, the student team of Tehran University will participate in this year’s tournament with the support of Tapsi. This team, which reached the second place among the 80 participating teams in the qualifying stage of the tournament, has made its way to the main round of this world tournament.
The ICPC international competition is held every year as one of the most important and prestigious programming competitions in the world. This competition, which is also known as the Olympics of programmers, is held every year at the regional level, in different parts of the world, and the winners of this course will receive the license to participate in the international competition.
Dr. Baqer Babaali, Professor of Computer Science Department of Tehran University and head of the programming team of the Faculty of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science of this university, said regarding the importance of participating in these competitions: “Sending students to these competitions while raising the scientific status of the university creates a double motivation. among college students to improve their skills and knowledge. Most of the top students who participated in the previous competitions are currently professors and renowned experts in prominent companies of our country or prestigious universities in the world and international companies. It is hoped that these chosen ones will also take steps in this way and become a source of pride for our country.”
Ali Elahi, technical vice-president of Tapsi, who was also a participant in this competition in 2015, says about the reasons for Tapsi supporting students to participate in these competitions: “In Iran, we are on par with advanced countries in this field in terms of technology. We would like to help maintain this alignment. Participating in international competitions is one of the methods of measuring the level of our technical knowledge with the world. As one of the companies where technology forms the core of its activities, by supporting this team, Tapsi tries to help strengthen the country’s university and technical community and we hope we can be effective.”
It should be mentioned that this tournament with the participation of more than 50 countries and 140 university teams will be held in Kazakhstan from 15th to 20th of September, and the students Seyed Parsa Pordastan, Hamidreza Mazinani and Behrad Hemmati Aghabagheri accompanied by Dr. Babaali are the representatives of Tehran University team.
