Snapp companionship with women affected by violence
Living in a safe and non-violent environment is the basic right of all members of society, including women. In this regard, since 1981, the United Nations has chosen November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
In 2018, Atena Women’s Quality of Life Improvement Institute established the first non-governmental safe house for housing women exposed to domestic violence. A safe house is a place where women exposed to domestic violence can stay temporarily. Atena Safe House was established with the aim of providing physical and mental security for women and their children.
Women in this house are safe from the dangers and threats of domestic violence and can get out of the cycle of violence by using counseling services, legal and medical support, and be supported by this institution until the home and family environment is safe. By supporting safe houses and supporting women who have experienced violence, it is possible to effectively help break the chain of violence and ensure the psychological and physical security of women.
With the help of Snapp users and donating the amount collected in the Snapp Club charity project to the Atena Institute, 101 women under violence and their children received various services in the fields of support and empowerment.
This amount is used for the current expenses of the Atena safe house, such as food items, energy, cleaning, building maintenance and supplies, expenses related to the treatment and medicine of the covered women and their children, the cost of support services such as legal advice, training and empowerment, temporary accommodation and provision of clothing needed by the applicants.
In recent years, Snapp has implemented various charity projects in line with its social responsibility with the participation of its users in the customer club (Snapp Club). Previously, projects such as “helping women heads of households to find employment” were widely welcomed by users.
In the philanthropic section of its customer club, Snapp tries to help solve society’s problems by identifying effective and sustainable social responsibility projects. Charities and non-governmental organizations can send their proposals to Snapp’s corporate social responsibility email at csr.pr@snapp.cab.
