According to Iran digital economy annotation, the embassy of our country in Russia has announced that it will be possible to use Russian credit bank cards in Iran in 2 months.
Mohsen Rahimi, our country’s ambassador to Russia, has announced that the creation of the necessary infrastructure for the use of Russian bank cards in Iran is underway, and of course it will take some time to load the systems.
He emphasized that this action has been put on the agenda in line with the continuation of Russia and Iran’s efforts to strengthen economic relations.
In the shadow of Western sanctions, which intensified after the start of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as well as our country against Moscow, the two countries have gone towards strengthening their economic relations.
Michael Khachaturian, assistant professor of the Moscow University of Economics, says: the volume of trade between the two countries reached 4 billion dollars last year, and there is a possibility of expanding it in areas such as production and technical engineering.
He said that the experimental use of the Russian “Mir Card” in Iran, which was created by the Russians as an alternative to Visa and MasterCard, will begin by late summer or early fall.
