The Minister of Communications, Eisa Zarepour listed five requirements to achieve a 15% share of the digital economy
According to the IDEA, Emphasizing that the share of the digital economy should reach 15%, the Minister of Communications listed 5 requirements to achieve this goal.
“Eisa Zarepour”, the Minister of Communications, announced at the annual conference of electronic banking and payment systems that the country should reach a 15% share of the digital economy. According to him, this is an important goal: “We have the capacity to create a huge transformation in the country’s economy with the help of the digital sector.”
Zarepour pointed to the formation of the digital economy working group and the eight meetings held by it and said: “This working group acts like a secondary cabinet of ministers and seeks to remove obstacles to the growth of the digital economy in the country.”
According to Zarepour, for the first time, an independent chapter for the development of the digital economy has been created in the 7th development plan, which with the help of some articles such as articles 66, 67, 103 and 107 and the support of the parliament, good things have happened and Infrastructure will improve.
We have five requirements for the digital economy to grow, one is the development of communication infrastructure, which will be achieved with the growth of fixed communication; “Unfortunately, this issue has already been neglected in our country and has many problems.”
He considered the fiber optic project to be the biggest project in the history of communication in the country and said: “More than 4 million households in 100 cities were covered by fiber optic, and work is progressing in 100 other cities, and by the end of the year, we will cover 8 million households.”
Zarepour stated that the second requirement for the growth of the digital economy is the development of processing infrastructure: “With artificial intelligence, it is necessary to be able to process data in the shortest possible time. In the seventh law of development, it is assigned that the infrastructure should be developed with the help of the private sector company.
According to the Minister of Communications, data hub centers will soon be launched in three parts of the country, namely Tehran, Isfahan and Mashhad, which will provide hosting, cloud and data processing services, and the private sector has also invested in this matter.
Zarepour considered the third issue for the development of the digital economy to be “data”. According to him, in order to access the data more easily, we should go towards the smart government: “Access to the data of the devices should be provided at the moment. These accesses make the work faster and more transparent.
This event requires a law, and in the 7th development plan, it is mandatory that all devices must be 20% smart every year. The devices must be linked together, and this issue is governed by the “National Data and Information” or “Continuity” law. According to this law, if a device needs a piece of data and the other device does not provide this data, it will be punished. “
He emphasized that the data will be provided to the private sector with privacy protection.
Zarepour considered the issue of privacy and its importance as the fourth issue for the growth of the digital economy and said: “Soon, we will send the privacy and data protection bill to the parliament to solve this important concern.”
The discussion of human capital is also the final issue that will help the growth of the digital economy, the Minister of Communications said: “Retaining human resources has become a difficult issue for companies. In the 7th development plan, the government is tasked with cultivating 100,000 skilled workers per year for the growth of the digital economy. All the devices are obliged in this regard.
He believes that in the current situation, the ground is ready for the transition of electronic banking to smart banking: “When a bank opens an account online for people in a few minutes, there is no longer an excuse to make the banking system smarter.”
At the end of his speech, the Minister of Communications asked the devices to appear in the window of the National Smart Unit so that everything is integrated there and receive government smart services: “Nearly thirty million people visited this window and were authenticated.”
