OTC of Iran granted four crowdfunding platforms “SmartFunding”, “NovinCrowd”, “OpalCrowd” and “PareshCrowd” to operate. With the licenses issued for these platforms, the number of licensed crowdfunding platforms reached 30.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, the Smartfunding platform operates in the field of information technology, communication and digital marketing. This platform belongs to Raimandan Roshdafrin Noavar Sepehr Company, which is known by the brand name “SmartUp”. Smartup operates in the field of venture capital, and by receiving the “Smartfunding” license, it expands its activities to the field of crowdfunding.
NovinCrowd platform also operates in the fields of electronics and software, medical and pharmaceutical equipment, development of technology areas and construction in technology parks, petrochemical and oil and gas companies. NovinCrowd belongs to the “Novin Technology Development Fund” which is based in Pardis Technology Park.
The OpalCrowd platform, which is owned by the Opal Wealth Management Company, also operates in the field of attracting capital for profitable and knowledge-based projects in the fields of metal minerals and electronic industries.
“Pishgam” bold capital management company will also invest in the plans and projects of knowledge-based companies in various fields by receiving the license of the PareshCrowd platform.
Crowdfunding is a method based on which the necessary capital to finance a business is collected from micro savings. This collective participation is carried out through platforms with a crowdfunding license from the OTC and the Securities and Exchange Organization.
