Division Between the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Over Platform Launch
A dispute has arisen between the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology over the establishment of a national goods distribution platform. While the Ministry of Communications prepares for its launch, the Ministry of Industry openly opposes the idea.
Ministry of Industry Objects to National Goods Distribution Platform
According to IDEA, The Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade raises concerns and opposition to the creation of a centralized system for regulating goods distribution. They question the feasibility of providing every delivery service with a unique identifier and insist that the government didn’t initially include this proposal in its development plans. The Ministry of Industry argues that the system could lead to an unwanted government monopoly in the goods distribution sector.
Ministry Advocates Enhanced Oversight and Coordination in the Delivery Sector
In contrast to the Ministry of Industry’s objections, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology proposes comprehensive supervision and organization of goods distribution through a national platform. This plan, in line with the Seventh Development Plan, aims to improve oversight of the sector, enhance the quality of services, and ensure that various delivery operators function effectively within the framework of the national system.
Private Sector to Manage Centralized Distribution Network
Lawmakers have assigned the Ministry of Communications with creating a goods distribution platform that will be managed by the private sector. This initiative aims to provide a more organized and monitored approach to goods distribution, ensuring that all operators in the sector cooperate within the newly established framework.
This series of events reflects the ongoing debate and differences of opinion regarding the establishment of a centralized national platform for goods distribution in Iran.
