The head of Iran’s Space Agency reaffirmed the commitment to supporting knowledge-based firms in the field of space technology. Despite this year’s altered slogan, the agency remains dedicated to backing these companies and the private sector, emphasizing that slogans announced by the Supreme Leader extend beyond a single year.
Head of Space Agency Visits Final Testing of ‘Kosar’ and ‘Hod-hod’ Satellites
According to IDEA, During a visit to SpaceOMID, an innovative private space company, Dr. Hassan Salarieh, along with senior space agency officials, was briefed on the company’s recent accomplishments. They received updates on the progress and final testing of the “Kosar” and “Hod-hod” satellites, slated for near-future launches.
Dr. Salarieh noted the significant progress made in Iran’s space industry in recent years, partly attributed to the support from the President’s Office. He highlighted the agency’s comprehensive plan, integrated into the ten-year space program, aimed at implementing the Supreme Leader‘s slogan, “Support for Knowledge-Based Companies,” introduced last year.
The head of Iran’s Space Agency expressed the agency’s commitment to continue supporting knowledge-based firms and the private sector, regardless of this year’s altered slogan, underscoring that the Supreme Leader’s annual slogans have enduring significance.
Dr. Salarieh emphasized the practice of visiting knowledge-based companies will persist, contributing to the establishment of a robust private sector presence within Iran’s space ecosystem.
SpaceOMID, established in 2018 with the goal of developing satellite systems, is currently in the final testing phase of its “Kosar” remote sensing satellite. Additionally, they have the “Hod-hod” satellite, which finds applications in telecommunications and the Internet of Things, aiding smart device control.
SpaceOMID not only focuses on satellite design and manufacturing but also engages in significant activities in satellite imaging services and remote sensing applications for agriculture, contributing to Iran’s growing space industry.
