The Knowledge-Based Company ” Noura Laye Negar Industries” has for the first time succeeded in making a metal 3D printer (SLM) in the country, which was previously only the monopoly of America, England, Germany and France.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, the communication and information center of the presidential Vice President for science, technology and economy has announced that the Knowledge-Based Company “Noura Laye Nagar Industries” has succeeded in building a metal 3D printer (SLM) for the first time in the country. it has happened that before it was only monopolized by America, England, Germany and France.
It is said that SLM technology, using Alloy powder as a Raw Material and a High-Power Laser as a Tool For Manufacturing and Melting Metal powder and mixing it, provides the possibility of producing different parts With any level of complexity directly from a 3D file. In this method, the final metal product is made using only a 3D file without the need for special secondary operations. After a layer is made, a new powder layer is spread on the construction surface. The thickness of these layers varies from at least 20 to 100 microns.
Tool Steel, Stainless Steel, Cobalt Chrome and Titanium are among the materials used in these 3D printers. In order to minimize the amount of Oxygen in the Sealed Chamber when using reactive materials such as Titanium or Aluminum, the Chamber is filled with high purity Argon gas.
This 3D printer has many capabilities in the field of mechanical engineering and metallurgical science research and will be used to make parts needed for the power plant, aerospace, automotive, industrial, medical and dental industries.
The CEO of this knowledge-based company, while pointing to the activity of a group of 40 people directly and the participation of several hundred other people indirectly in the project of building this printer, said: the scientific vice-chancellor has facilitated the acquisition of this product with its eight-year support of this company.
