Eisa Zarepour, Minister of Communications, officially opened Irancell’s one thousand and fifteenth 5G site in a ceremony held today in Kermanshah. With this opening, the number of 5G sites across the country reached 2,004.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, In this ceremony, Zarepour announced the significant increase in the speed of the Internet in the country and said: “In the 13th government, the development of communication technologies, especially 5G, has been a priority and we have been able to increase the number of 5G sites by 200 times. The opening of this Irancell 5G site, which is the 17th 5G site in Kermanshah province, is also in the same direction.
In this ceremony, they were able to reach a download speed of nearly one gigabit per second (915 megabits per second) in Irancell’s 5G network. The governor of Kermanshah also emphasized the importance of this achievement in creating employment and development of the province.
The Minister of Communications also pointed to the development of rural communications and said that more than 97 percent of villages in Kermanshah Province are connected to the National Information Network.
