Iranian Parliamentary Faction Proposes Infrastructure Development for the Fourth Industrial Revolution
According to IDEA, The head of the Strategic Faction in the Iranian Parliament, Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Reza Mir Tajaldini, has presented proposals in the seventh development plan. These proposals focus on creating essential infrastructure for the fourth industrial revolution, the Internet of Things (ICT), and artificial intelligence (AI). The faction aims to establish a dedicated fund to develop the fiber optic network infrastructure.
Establishing a Fiber Optic Network Development Fund: A Key Proposal
Mir Tajaldini emphasized that the seventh development plan should facilitate the country’s transition into the fourth industrial revolution. One key proposal from the Strategic Faction is the creation of a fund dedicated to developing the infrastructure for fiber optic networks. This fund could potentially enable the provision of broadband internet services to five million subscribers based on fiber optic networks across Iran. The proposal aims to ensure that the necessary infrastructure for fiber optics and ICT is in place to benefit the public dynamically.
Integration of Water, Electricity, and Energy Industries: A Vision for Economic Management
The faction also proposes the seamless integration of the water, electricity, and energy industries, similar to the operations of service providers. Currently, the conditions in the water and electricity industry are not ideal, with a lack of cohesion and multiple systems in place across various provinces. Establishing unified systems within these sectors can enhance decision-making on a national scale and align parliamentary planning with government policies.
Data Analytics and Smart Metering in National Networks
The faction’s goals include making the national network capable of real-time data analytics. This capability will be crucial for the deployment of smart meters for water and electricity. The government is urged to prioritize the implementation of smart meters before the end of the seventh development plan.
Fiber Optic Network Development: A Vital Component of the Fourth Industrial Revolution
Emphasizing the significance of fiber optic network development, Seyyed Soheil Yahyazadeh, the head of the Parliamentary Strategic Faction’s Information and Communication Technology Committee, highlighted the need for robust infrastructure in the IoT and fourth industrial revolution era. Fiber optic networks play a pivotal role in empowering large, specialized, and small-to-medium industries. The faction hopes these aspects will be incorporated into the seventh development plan, building on the previous approval of a fiber optic network expansion project in the parliament.
