The Shatel optical fiber in Saveh city was inaugurated by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology
According to the IDEA, on Thursday, November 18, 2023, in a ceremony, the Shatel optical fiber project in Saveh city was inaugurated and put into operation by the Minister of Communications.
Dr. Isa Zarepour, during his trip to Central Province and attending the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents, inaugurated the optical fiber project for homes and Shatel businesses in Saveh city.
Shatel Information and Communication Technology Group, as the operator of the optical fiber project for homes and businesses in Saveh city, has been able to complete this project in the shortest possible time.
This project has covered more than 70,000 households living in Saveh city with more than 120 kilometers of fiber cables.
Based on this, all homes and businesses in Saveh city have been covered by the optical fiber network since today, and the people of this city can benefit from the Internet at speeds up to several hundred megabits per second.
Mohammad Hassan Shanehsaz zadeh, the chairman of the board of directors of Shatel Company, said in this ceremony: It is a rare event that we were able to deliver this quality service to the dear people of Saveh in the shortest possible time. While presenting a report on the implementation and completion of this project, he said: 40 kilometers of drilling and more than 120 kilometers of fiber laying have been done in Saveh city, and the entire city is covered by the fiber network and will cover nearly 100,000 households.
He added: In the continuation of work, we will try to reduce the distance of families’ access to fiber from 300 meters to 100 meters. We are also trying to provide the service in Saveh to one week.
Shanesaz zadeh also said about the fiber optic service tariff: One-year service with 40 gigabytes per month without speed limit with a fixed phone line, free one-year Namava subscription for the first year will be 1,200,000 Tomans.
Dr. Zarepour also called the optical fiber project for homes and businesses among the biggest communication projects in the history of the country and said: This project is a historical event that speeds up the development process in the country several times.
He added: “Today we witnessed a speed test of 800 megabits per second on an optical fiber bed, and this speed reaches up to one thousand megabits per second in some areas.”
Zarepour stated that this big project has been started for almost a year, and stated: In the last one year, two and a half million coverages have been created, and currently, nearly 4 million households are covered by optical fiber to homes and businesses. And by the end of the year, the commitment of 8 million covers and 20 million covers by the end of the government will be fulfilled.
At the end of this ceremony, a speed test was performed in the presence of the central governor, the governor and other provincial and city managers and media members, and the speed of 800 megabits per second was recorded.
After this ceremony, Dr. Zarepour, together with his delegation and the Shatel managers, went to the house of one of Saveh city’s educators and a business and evaluated the service provided to these customers.
