The directive “Organization of hosting services in the virtual space of the country” was announced

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, according to the directive “Organization of hosting services in the virtual space of the country”, was required to provide the data related to the hosting space in order to monitor and evaluate the issue within the framework of the country’s laws and regulations

According to Iran digital economy annotation, instructions for organizing hosting services in the virtual space of the country were announced with the aim of organizing identity authentication and creating a database of natural and legal persons requesting hosting space in clouds and internal data centers. This instruction is the first part and related to the authentication of applicants for data center, cloud and hosting services.

According to this resolution, the Commission for the Regulation of Communications Regulation must act within a maximum period of 3 months to approve the principles governing the issuance of licenses and technical and quality standards related to the authentication of data center, cloud and hosting service providers.

In this instruction, the method of authentication of the applicants of the hosting and cloud space and the data items required for the formation of birth certificates should be specified, and it should be required to specify the service characteristics of the applicant, such as the type of service, the scope of the audience, and the obligations of the field to operate within the framework of the request and obtain licenses. Obtain the requirements from the regulator if necessary.

Also, specify the method of providing applicants’ information, including periodical and case reports, by data center and cloud service providers to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

All legal and regulatory institutions related to this directive, such as the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the General Police Command of Iran, the Ministry of Information, the Broadcasting Organization, are obliged to monitor and evaluate the field activities and match the status of the data received from the data centers based on their legal requirements. take action and send cases of violation of the specified conditions to the Ministry of Communications.

The Ministry of Communications is also obliged to investigate and apply the effect of reported violations in the rating of data center, cloud and hosting service providers and apply the determined fines.
