After holding the first Hackathon “Next to Divar “, Divar has announced that it is ready to fully support innovative teams and creative plans to develop and add to this platform.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, with 67 million annual users, Divar has always tried to improve the user experience, make the activity and transaction path better and safer for its users. In this way, some services are developed and implemented by Divar itself, but since the beginning of 2023, “Next to Divar” as a platform has provided the possibility for other businesses to provide their services to meet the needs of Divar’s users. So far, more than 40 plugins have been added to Divar to provide their services to users. Secure payment, authentication, sending goods, etc. are part of these services.
Ideas and designs that can solve a problem from users can progress and develop independently and be available to millions of users of this platform using the ” Next to Divar” platform. Access to this platform is open to everyone and if approved, programs and plugins can be published on Divar.
One of Divar’s solutions in this field is to support creative and innovative teams and ideas that have presented a product in line with the “next to Divar” goals. Start with a hackathon next to Divar
The first Hackathon “Next to Divar” was held during three days (from July 3 to 5) in cooperation with the Sharif University Entrepreneurship Center and with the presence of 90 participants from different universities in Sharif University.
On the first day of this three-day event, which was attended by technical and product people, networking and team building was done, and finally 15 teams started working and competing with the help of APIs and “Next to Divar” tools, as well as guidance, technical and product advice from mentors.
At the end of this hackathon and after the presentation of the teams, the top five teams were chosen and each received almost 400 dollors as a prize. Some of the top teams at the “Next to Divar” hackathon had good ideas and some decent implementation. But for these top teams, the main prize will be their entry into the path of receiving Divar’s support for the development of their idea and product.
Divar’s site; Ready to explore creative ideas
One of the goals of “Next to Divar” is to use new ideas to solve the problems of Divar. Teams or those who think they have a creative plan and idea can start their program development from https://divar.ir/kenar without special coordination. Teams that request review for support can send their plan to kenar.support@divar.ir. Due to the limited resources, teams are selected in this program who, in addition to the potential of the team and idea, can make the best use of the grant (financial aid) and the facilities provided by Divar.
From virtual tour to sales assistant
The selected teams of the Hackathon “Next to Divar” had diverse and creative ideas to help the users of Divar. The Divar’s main priorities for choosing the top teams in this event included the relevance of the idea to Divar and solving the needs of users, the creativity and novelty of the idea, as well as its implementation and ease of use. The winning design of the Guardians team was a 3D virtual tour using VR (virtual reality) for real estate ads. In this hackathon, the “Discover Ali” team had developed its design using AR (augmented reality) so that Divar’s users can create a 3D design of the product they want to sell (for example, home appliances).
Another top idea came from the “Salesman team” who presented the initial design of an artificial intelligence assistant for sales through Divar’s chat to enter into a conversation with the customer. “The Darkside of the wall” team put the idea of Divar’s barter system on the hackathon table by adding the option to choose the type of barter. The Salsa team also won the hackathon with the decentralization of expert services (cars, property, etc.) in Divar. With this team’s plan, experts can register for their areas of expertise, and at the time of the transaction, a list of experts related to the transaction will be offered to the buyer and seller.
Recognizing the potential of “Next to Divar”
“Next to Divar” is a platform that startup teams and companies can use to add their services to Divar as a supplement and extension to be used by millions of users of this platform.
By holding various events, including Hackathon, Divar plans to collect and review developers’ feedback about working with this product. One of the goals of holding the Hackathon “Next to Divar” was to allow developers to use the tools that have been prepared on the “Next to Divar” platform so far and to provide feedback on the ease of work and suitability of the existing tools.
By using these feedbacks, the “Next to Divar” team is trying to improve the existing tools and also identify the needs felt by the developers. “Next to Divar” has significant potential for rapid growth and development of innovative designs, and Divar strives to make students and companies large and small aware of its capabilities. Through this ( link ) you can access the documentation of “Next to Divar” and learn about examples of implementation on this platform.
Ashkan Armandehi, the CEO of Divar, says about “Next to Divar” as a new approach: this change of approach, which we started at the beginning of last year, was taken in order to involve companies in the steps of the transaction instead of us entering it ourselves. which can help users in these steps in a specialized way.
According to him, Divar does not have a commercial view of this service at the moment and rather seeks to create value in the way of user transactions so that their issues and problems can be solved through external services. Armandehi says: Our ultimate goal is for the user to have a variety of choices for their transaction steps in all sectors and categories, and in this competition, companies try to provide the best service to get a share of users.
