The head of organizational culture and employee experience of DigiExpress stated: We are looking to use the potential and energy of the new generation
According to the IDEA, The subject of human resources and concepts such as employer brand have received more attention in recent years due to the innovative trends as well as the challenges faced by businesses in the field of specialized human resources. In this regard, in recent years, we have witnessed the holding of exhibitions in which businesses sought to attract talents from among students.
The 13th “Work” exhibition of Sharif University was one such event, which was held with the aim of creating job opportunities in technical and engineering fields, basic sciences, management, medical and experimental sciences.
Most of the businesses present in this exhibition were related to information technology and innovation. One of the participating businesses in the job fair was “Digiexpress” company, which started its activity in 2020 and is considered the logistics arm of Digikala.
“Reza Babaei”, head of organizational culture and employee experience of DigiExpress, says about DigiExpress activity: “DigiExpress is one of the subdivisions of Digikala group that operates in the field of logistics. Logistics has been an inseparable part of the activities of this collection since the beginning of Digikala.
Also, the logistics industry of this business has been the most important sector after attracting capital in Digikala. “Now, DigiExpress delivers about 100,000 orders to DigiKala and DigiKalajet customers every day, and each order can contain several products.”
He continues: “There are two types of goods delivery; Scheduled delivery and on demand delivery. Scheduled delivery is a model where orders are delivered at specific intervals, for example, for a specific time on days specified by customers. Delivery based on demand is also related to the Q-commecrce model and is dedicated to purchases of food and goods that the customer wants to receive in a short period of time (half to an hour).
In delivery based on schedule, Tipax and Company Post are our competitors, and in delivery based on demand, companies such as SnappExpress, alopeyk and Miare are our competitors.
Education; One of the main pillars of unlimited growth
Reza Babaei further mentions the issue of human resources training about DigiExpress programs in the field of human resources and explains: “In general, we believe that education is one of the main pillars of unlimited growth. At Digikala Group, we use various platforms for the development and progress of our colleagues.
For example, I can point to holding online and face-to-face training courses, making current world content available to colleagues, designing and developing the career path of colleagues, and establishing a feedback and coaching system. In addition, fortunately, our working environment allows new colleagues to have the opportunity to learn and gain experience alongside the experts of Digi-Express.”
Promotion of trainees to management levels
The head of organizational culture and employee experience of DigiExpress also says about the impact of events like the job fair: “The logistics industry is a traditional industry in the eyes of most people, and our point of distinction is also in this mentality. At DigiExpress, we strive to provide smart logistics solutions to improve customer experience.
We need colleagues who are aligned with our vision. In addition, by participating in the job fair, we try to open a window to our company in order to use this opportunity as a space for job seekers and the new generation to get to know Digiexpress.”
Babaei emphasizes: “In general, exhibitions such as the job fair are very helpful in communicating between the student group, generation Z and talented people who can potentially be on our same path in creating organizational values and have an effective relationship with the industry. As much as the brands can better introduce themselves in this type of exhibitions, the work community will find a better connection with the visions and organizational values of each brand.”
He further explains: “In general, the audience at the Sharif Work Fair is the new generation, and internship projects can help the cycle of this generation’s entry into organizations. These projects help us to bring the energy and potential of the new generation to Digikala Group.
Fortunately, since several years ago, we have had a pleasant experience in attracting interns and developing and promoting them to management levels, and we are still taking steps in this direction.”
Creating incentives for talent migration
The head of organizational culture and employee experience of DigiExpress notes about the issue of immigration and how businesses deal with this concept: “I can mention the use of the concept of meaningful work, value creation and concern of colleagues as a solution. We at DigiExpress, like many companies active in the startup ecosystem, are facing the issue of immigration.
The main reason for leaving a job at Digikala is migration, but by trying to create meaning in different jobs and checking the position of the work position in the market and optimizing salaries and benefits, we give our colleagues the opportunity to be effective in the society to motivate them to To create non-immigration and reverse migration of talented people.”
In the end, he talks about technology-oriented logistics in DigiExpress: “In this regard, we are the main investors of startups such as “Ganje” and “Uptime” and we have regular cooperation with them. For example, Uptime helps to manage and prioritize the delivery time of each package by collectors to deliver orders to customers with less time, less fuel, and thus more efficient operations.
This prioritization helps to make the product delivery process smart and environmentally friendly. Ganje also deals with the issue of time management of goods delivery by customers. Ganje smart lockers are located in commercial centers, large buildings and high traffic centers. “In general, our industry helps to reduce people’s intercity trips and, as a result, less air pollution.”
