Emphasizing that “this matter has been done despite the existence of a clear text of the law and a specific circular that exempts online taxis from paying the added value by the people”, he said: “Unfortunately, in such a situation, the tax authorities, based on the new notification to the internet taxi companies, They have demanded added value from the people that the parliament is against the 10% increase in the price of internet taxis in exchange for the illegal collection of value added tax by the tax affairs organization.
Tax Affairs Organization in 2020 clearly stated in a circular: “Given that the payment of value added tax will be related to the final consumer and according to the value added tax law, passenger transportation services regardless of their type, manner and quality, It is not subject to value added tax; Therefore, real and legal persons who undertake to provide smart passenger transportation services, if they hand over the passenger transportation to their own vehicles and receive a percentage of the transportation fare according to the regulations, The income derived from it is considered as income from passenger transportation and is subject to the exemption of clause (12) of article (12) of the aforementioned law.”
However, contrary to this circular, the Tax Administration has issued a definitive VAT form for internet taxi companies.
