According to IDEA, Iran’s Deputy for Scientific and Technological Affairs at the Presidency, Rouhollah Dehghani, highlighted the pivotal role of cognitive sciences in enhancing societal security and development.
During a recent event introducing a credibility symbol for cognitive products, Dehghani noted that cognitive games have gained substantial importance in modern life. He emphasized that the economic game market has become increasingly attractive for investors, and the shift from CPUs to GPUs signifies the growing interest in this sector. Furthermore, he discussed the importance of cognitive development in adults, the elderly, and children, especially in the context of cognitive games. Dehghani stressed that cognitive games offer unique experiences that extend beyond real-world possibilities. The use of gaming platforms for cognitive, educational, and therapeutic purposes is well-established, and parents often seek suitable games to aid their children’s cognitive growth. He concluded by emphasizing the significance of setting new standards for cognitive games and how this symbol could help game developers align with the country’s cognitive development needs. The symbol categorizes computer and physical games, allowing parents to choose games that provide entertainment and cognitive benefits to their children.
Dehghani also highlighted the importance of this symbol, which aids game developers in creating games that fulfill the country’s cognitive needs. Additionally, it assists individuals seeking therapeutic benefits from games by offering a clear understanding of a game’s cognitive impact. The standardization of games based on science and technology is a serious subject being considered in scientific deputy offices.
Furthermore, the official underscored the support for games that can achieve higher standards, mentioning the backing of researchers and the provision of favorable conditions for the development of new technology and products. He also discussed offering low-interest loans during the production and market development stages and using all legal tools within the scientific deputy’s mandate for promotion, publicity, and permits.
Seyyed Mohammad Mahdavi, the Head of the Cognitive Sciences and Technology Office, emphasized that the priority is to focus on two key groups: children and adolescents, and the elderly. He emphasized that investing in cognitive sciences for children can yield a significant return on investment due to their enhanced cognitive development.

In a related context, Seyyed Mohammad Mahdavi, Head of the Cognitive Sciences and Technology Office, emphasized the need for cognitive science-focused games tailored to children aged 3 to 6. He pointed out that, at present, 62% of children in this age group in Iran have access to mobile devices and tablets, underscoring the necessity for developing and producing games centered around cognitive sciences for this specific demographic.
Mahdavi stressed, “Today, nearly 34 million people in our country engage in daily gaming activities, with an average of 95 minutes spent playing mobile games. Consequently, it is imperative that we have new programs for cognitive science-based gaming.”
He highlighted the inclusiveness of cognitive science within their framework, addressing various domains for assessment. For example, health and cognitive sciences constitute two principal assessment and cognitive focus areas. Their ultimate aim is to enhance cognitive capital by leveraging the potential of entertainment and games, particularly in a context where 85% of job opportunities in Iran are tied to cognitive science accomplishments.
