Advisor to Minister Samt considers businesses to be absent in the field of maritime economy and believes that the value chain in the field of maritime economy has not been paid attention to. He asked e-commerce businesses to enter the sea economy.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, Mohammad Mehdi Salari, advisor to the Minister of Security and Head of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Marine Industries, said about the ministry’s plan to develop e-commerce in the field of maritime economy: We are trying to develop the value chain and define concepts in the field of maritime economy.
This will happen through the presence of businesses and practical investment. Unfortunately, there has not been proper attention to this area and our share in the global economy is very small and the maritime economy has a small share in the macro economy of the country.
He continued: So far, the value chain of the sea economy has not been defined in the field of businesses. We must analyze the system of problems in the field of marine economy and take the opportunities of the drivers seriously. Our businesses are absent from the maritime economy.
He said about the investment priorities in the field of maritime economy: development of tourism infrastructure, fisheries and marine services, development of marine technologies, internet payment system and credit systems, supply and distribution of marine goods, construction and purchase of floats and tourism reservation are among the priority areas for investment in They are the economy of the sea.
Salari continued: We are very backward and traditional in infrastructure development. We should know that we are dealing with a 30 billion dollar market in the Oman Sea and the Persian Gulf with 50,000 ships passing through each year. We are the only supplier of primary and raw materials in this field, while there are many capacities for development in the sea economy.
Salari said: In the Fajr decade, we will hold the financing event for marine businesses with the crowdsourcing method, and we ask all businesses active in this field to participate in this event. I hope that new opportunities will be created in this event for the development of the sea economy.
In response to the attachment about the share of businesses and their turnover in the maritime economy, he said: this share is estimated to be 2 percent. Unfortunately, this area does not have a planning system and only a part of these statistics have been obtained from the institutions in charge, and there is no verification of these statistics.
Alireza Javed Arabshahi, the secretary of the e-commerce working group of the Supreme Council of Industries, said about the reason for the presence of only two e-commerce businesses, Basalam and Kasbino: In the initial calls, we invited all the businesses in the field of online retail and e-commerce, and in the subsequent meetings, only these two businesses announced their readiness. We have created a platform for the development of this field and there is no obstacle for the presence of other businesses.
Mina Mehrnoosh, CEO of Kasbino and former head of Virtual Business Union, said: Our biggest problem in the field of e-commerce is the lack of proper networking. When information cannot flow properly, development will not occur. Stakeholders must be able to establish a proper relationship with each other, Kasbino has declared readiness in this area.
