The Minister of Communications and Information Technology has emphasized that engaging in advertising contacts is a violation. Additionally, there are rules and regulations in place regarding promotional text messages, and companies are obliged to adhere to them. If any actions are taken outside of these frameworks and guidelines, the Regulatory Authority of Radio Communications, which is responsible for such matters, will pursue and take action.
According to IDEA, in response to complaints regarding the bothersome nature of promotional text messages, Eisa Zarepour stated: We have instructed to regulate the domain of promotional text messages. Although there are rules and regulations in place, some companies do violate them. He added: Just today, I was in a meeting with the governor of Zanjan when I received two phone calls and upon answering, realized they were promotional calls. Promotional calls are violations, and I have instructed that proper actions be taken, fines be imposed, and these calls be immediately stopped. No one has the right to intrude upon people’s privacy; telephone-based advertising calls cause discomfort to individuals; it’s unlawful and will certainly be addressed. The Minister of Communications and Information Technology further emphasized that similar rules and laws exist for promotional text messages, and they must not act contrary to them. If actions are taken beyond the frameworks and guidelines, our colleagues at the Regulatory Authority of Radio Communications, which is responsible for such matters, will pursue and take action.
