The head of NSR Organization pointed out that the private sector solves sanctions problems and it is better for the government to seek to remove internal obstacles
According to the IDEA, head of the Computer Trade Union Organization believes that the proposal of the Digital Cooperation Union by the Chamber of Commerce is a good idea, but there are always obstacles in this path, such as sanctions issues. Of course, he believes that the internal problems of the country in the field of technology entry are a more serious problem and it is better for the government to think about removing these obstacles.
“Shahab Javanmardi”, the CEO of Fanap Company, at the Iran Technology Day event which was held with the support of this company at GITEX 2023 exhibition, introduced the plan to form a specialized regional union called “Middle East Digital Cooperation Union” and from the efforts of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, as The strong pavilion of the private sector announced the formation of this alliance and strategic cooperation between the joint chambers of the countries of the region.
After this idea was presented by the Chamber of Commerce, “Farzin Fardis”, a member of the board of this chamber, stated that not sanctions, but rent and monopoly are more important obstacles on the way of the digital cooperation union.
Hossein Eslami, the head of Tehran Computer Trade Union Organization, pointing out that a country like Iran with high human capital potential should make suggestions in this field, stated: “Of course, there are obstacles in the way of this union, which are necessary. The private sector should discuss with each other more for the correct design and its precise implementation.
We are also interested in the cooperation of the trade union organization with the Tehran Chamber and the Iran Chamber and we are ready to have the necessary participation regarding the design of this union and its proposal.
He explained about these obstacles: “Obstacles such as the lack of cooperation of some countries in the Middle East require serious consultations with some countries in the region at the beginning of the formation of this union. Before that, we should have reached a convergence in the organizations in the field of new technologies in the digital economy inside the country.
“We, in the trade union system, have long started trade union organizations in the Fava region with the presence of the Tehran Chamber and many other organizations.”
According to Eslami, the problem of sanctions can harm the communication we intend to establish, but it cannot be the main obstacle. He believes that the dialogue in the field of digital economy and the design of a union can proceed with legal coordination in a way that we are not the target of sanctions.
Pointing out that the private sector is always the target of sanctions, the head of nsr Organization said: “It is possible to prepare legal ways so that with the strength of the private sector and the cooperation of other countries, such a union will not be subject to sanctions; Although this is a concern for many participants in the union.
“We don’t want anything from the government except to remove the obstacles”
He also said about the expectations that private institutions have from the government: “We did not ask the government for anything except removing the obstacles, and we are not looking for support.”
Sometimes it is necessary to coordinate with other countries, and we expect that the government will consider the proposals of the private sector and use them to move things forward. What we expect from the government is actually to remove the obstacles in order to strengthen the private sector so that it can stand on its own feet and form international cooperation.
Eslami believes that this union does not help imports much. In fact, he considers the country’s major problems in the field of software and hardware technologies to be internal problems.
The head of nsr Organization pointed out that the private sector solves sanctions problems and it is better for the Central Bank and the Ministry of Security to seek to remove internal obstacles. According to him, direct export has complications due to sanctions issues, but the world of digital economy is a world beyond borders and there are always ways to export technical and engineering services and technology, as well as services that technology fields can provide.
